Our Sustainability Statement
At Hengyang, achieving sustainability in casing processing and heparin sodium production is more than a long-term goal. It is our commitment, focus, and principle. As we seek to increase our global trading footprint, we are also constantly reminded that we owe great responsibility to the land and community that empower our growth. We hold ourselves to the highest standard when it comes to refining our daily operations to ensure that we minimize negative impacts to the environment.
Practicing Environmental Stewardship
As one of the initial efforts to becoming responsible stewards of the environment, Hengyang implemented a state-of-art waste elimination system that is able to process 800 tons of liquid waste at once. Hengyang is fully licensed with Pollutant Discharge Permits (PDP) under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of PRC.
In addition to efficient waste management, we also internally track, review and monitor water and energy consumption on an ongoing basis to optimize and reduce excess usage. Our team continues to invest in fine-tuning our current approaches, as well as adopt new systems to reduce carbon footprint in our operations.
Benefactor of Clean Energy
Our production plant's home, Tongzhou Bay, is China’s national green-energy demonstration county. By the end of 2021, the county’s offshore wind farms had accumulated 35.34 billion kilowatt-hours of grid-connected power generation. In turn, 12,261,700 tons of standard coal usage was reduced, thereby eliminating emissions of carbon dioxide by 42.04 million tons, and sulfur dioxide by 122,600 tons.
Hengyang benefits from the region’s clean energy initiative. In return, we pay tribute by being ever more sustainable in operations to contribute to the grand zero-emission goal.
